Payment
The public road network in Norway is partly financed by road tolls. The rate charged when a vehicle passes a toll collection point (toll station) is based on the type of vehicle, time of day, etc. For more information, select category.

If you have a toll payment tag
An agreement with an AutoPASS toll service provider gives you access to discount schemes and monthly caps on toll transactions. When you have a user agreement and a toll payment tag, you will receive an invoice from the toll service provider with whom you have signed the agreement. When you pass a toll collection point, the transaction is automatically registered to your agreement.
If you have questions concerning your toll payment agreement, invoices or other issues related to your situation as a toll service customer, please contact the toll service provider with whom you have an agreement.
If you do not have a toll payment tag
Payment for toll transactions is regulated by law through the Norwegian Toll Payment Regulations (betalingsforskriften). If you pass a toll collection point without a tag and a user agreement, a photo will be taken of your vehicle registration number. You will receive an invoice by post for the regular toll rate, with no penalty charge, from the toll charger that owns the toll station you have passed.
